Breeding History

Due to competition, Coconut Grove did not begin breeding until the age of 16. Out of his first crops, he produced TWO Selle Francais High Scoring Foals in The Nation,  a Top 4 in the Nation Hanoverian Foal and 2nd in the Nation Belgium Warmblood Foal. He has produced numerous Site Champions and Premium foals in every breed registry, having sired 100% Premium Foals in multiple years. In 2021, he sired the Best Jumper Foal and U.S. Gold Medal Hanoverian foal (an award only granted to the Top 10% in the Nation).

Coconut Grove sired Jumper Futurity Winners and Young Jumper Championship winners in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, including a Top 5 and a Top 10 Winner of the Madden Jumper Talent Search in 2012. His many winners include U.S.E.F. Horse of the Year Zone Championships in both hunter and jumper divisions every year from 2013 – 2020. Coconut Grove offspring have also experienced success at the Grand Prix level and in 1.40m – 1.50m events. To name a few: $7500 Futures Prix Champion 2021, 5th  $50,000 Brownland Music Country Grand Prix 2020, two times 1st Aiken Summer Classic Grand Prix 2020, 6th $30,000 Brownland Grand Prix 2020, 6th $50,000 Cleveland Grand Prix 2018, 4th Lexington Grand Prix 2018, 1st  Ottawa International 2016, 2nd  Royal Winter Fair Stake 2016, 2nd Caledon Premier 2016 and 2nd Spring National Grand Prix 2014.

Notable eventing offspring include Coconut Girl (NL), Champion at the International CCI3* Eventing Competition in Varsseveld, Netherlands, D.A. Got Game (US), successful competitor at CCI3*, Falling In Love (NL), competing for the Bavarian Team at CCI3*and Haudanum Imoo (FR), recently rising to CCI3*.

Coconut Grove mares are highly sought after as broodmares. Many have been awarded their registry’s highest status in nearly every stud book. In addition, Coconut Grove has produced mares that have been awarded Competition Mare status and have been approved for the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program. Elite mare Coconut Girl (NL), 1.40m jumper and stellar event horse, is a consistent producer of quality jumpers, event horses and an approved stallion. Champion jumper mare Coquette BHF (US), is the dam of Balou Moon BHF (US), who is highly successful in jumpers up to 1.50m. Coconut Grove is the sire of Elite mare Eekilly II (NL), who jumped to 1.30m prior to becoming a broodmare and Cindy (NL), who is the dam of several U.S. exported event horses and dam of Elite mare Hortensia-H, a 1.40m jumper in Europe. The Elite mare Dynamic Grove (NL), herself a 1.30m jumper, is the dam of Moreno Grove (NL), an approved stallion and Winner of the Dutch Young Horse Eventing Trial Finals in 2021 and dam of Intornesch (NL) a jumper exported to the U.S. Elite daughter Caracas (NL), is the dam of Jupiter Rubie Noir (BEL), a 1.30m jumper and a developing hunter. Daughter Uwita OHF (US) produced winning competition offspring, an Intermediate Level Event horse and the approved stallion Montaro OHF.

We see excellent competition success in his grand offspring as well. In 2014, a Coconut Grove grandson, Golden Coconut (NL), was selected for second viewing at the KWPN Stallion Show in the Netherlands, he is currently a winning 1.35m jumper. Grandson Hurbie (FR), is a highly successful jumper currently competing at 1.45 in Europe. Granddaughter Forget Me Not Windsor Z, was a successful Grand Prix jumper in the U.S., prior to being exported to VDL as a broodmare. In 2021, 4 year old newcomers made their mark, Mister Coconut was Champion of the 4 Year Old Jumping Finals in France and Marvelous Coconut was Champion at Brabant L Eventing Competition. Three of the Top Ten Placings at the Dutch Eventing Young Horse Trial Finals in 2021 were Coconut Grove grandsons!

Jumper offspring winnings currently range from 1.30m – 1.50m, including Grand Prix and Mini Prix events in both the U.S. and Europe. His cross country event offspring are competing up to Intermediate 3* Events in both the U.S. and Europe. Coconut Grove has approved stallions in the U.S. and Europe.
